during the first half of the Rhema Eagles' game against Champion Baptist College, it looked like it would be a nail-biter to the finish, as the Tigers held a three-point lead at the break. But the Eagles dominated the second half to earn a 90-71 victory Friday night at the Ninowski Recreatin Center.
In what was easily their best shooting game of the year, the Eagles hit 70 percent (40-for-57) of their shots from the floor, including 50 percent (5-for-10) from three-point range. After allowing the Tigers to shoot nearly 50 percent in the first half, Rhema held Champion Baptist to 31 percent (10-for-32) from the floor and only six percent (1-for-16) from behind the arc in the second half. The Eagles were led by sophomore forward Parris Hoskins, who had his second double-double of the year with 25 points and 11 rebounds, both season highs. He shot 73 percent (11-for-15) from the floor, dished out three assists, and had three steals. Freshman forward Marc Gustin capitalized on his first start of the year, scoring a career high 24 points and grabbed six rebounds. Mike Jenkins added 12 point, while Kasey Byrd and Josh White each contributed 10.
