Lady Eagles Earn 10th Win With 22-Point Victory PDF Print E-mail

The Rhema Lady Eagles started their season slowly but have found their stride. On Tuesday, they defeated the Barclay Lady Bears 67-45 in Haviland, Kansas, to earn their 10th win of the year. After their first five games they were 0-5, but Rhema’s record now stands at 10-14.

Against Barclay, the Lady Eagles used defensive pressure and rebounding to earn the victory. Rhema forced 23 turnovers, had 11 steals, and outrebounded the Lady Bears 53-40. The Lady Eagles held Barclay to only 49 shots and a 22 percent shooting percentage (11-for-49), including 18 percent (2-for-11) from three-point range.

Lady Eagles Downed by Lady Royals PDF Print E-mail

lady eaglesRhema Outscored by 16 in the Second Half

The Rhema Lady Eagles dropped their second game in a row after being defeated 64-49 by the Ecclesia College Lady Royals Thursday night in Springdale, Arkansas. After the 15-point loss, Rhema stands at 8-14 for the season.

Despite holding a one-point halftime advantage, Rhema was limited to 22 second-half points, while the home-standing Lady Royals posted 38. For the game, Ecclesia shot 54 percent from the floor (22-of-41) while Rhema shot only 34 percent (19-for-47).

Lady Eagles Defeated by Lady Saints 59-52 PDF Print E-mail

lady eagles 21Rhema’s Outside Shooting Leads to Loss

The Rhema Lady Eagles fought hard against Central Christian College of the Bible Monday night but came up on the short end of a 59-52 final. With the loss, Rhema’s record stands at 8-13 for the year.

When the Lady Eagles connect on their outside shots, they are hard to stop. Against the Lady Saints, Rhema connected on only 21 percent (4-of-19) of their shots from three-point range, but hit 48 percent (15-for-31) from inside the arc.

Coming off of back-to-back losses where the team looked flat, the Rhema Lady Eagles looked flat in the first half against the Barclay College Lady Bears Tuesday night at the Ninowski Recreation Center. Although Rhema held a sizable lead, the team was committing careless turnovers and experiencing defensive lapses.

The Rhema Lady Eagles were swept in the Martin Luther King Classic in Belleville, Illinois, over the weekend. The two losses drop Rhema’s record to 7-12 on the year.

Game 1—Lindenwood-Belleville 71, Rhema Bible 48

 

The Rhema Lady Eagles battled the Lindenwood-Belleville Lady Lynx in the first half of a tight contest. The Lady Lynx made a run late in the opening frame to hold a 37-27 advantage at the break. Rhema couldn’t cut into the lead in the closing half and fell 71-48.

Lady Eagles Throttle Lady Ambassadors PDF Print E-mail

lady eaglesRhema Dominates Ozark Christian in 49-Point Win

The Rhema Lady Eagles lost the opening tip in their contest Tuesday night against the Ozark Christian Lady Ambassadors, but they dominated every aspect of the game after that en route to an 85-36 victory at the Ninowski Recreation Center. The Lady Eagles have won three of their last four games to improve their overall record to 7-10 on the year.

Utilizing a full-court press and suffocating man-to-man defense, Rhema built a double-digit lead within minutes of the opening tip. Rhema’s stifling defense forced 32 Ozark turnovers that led to 31 Lady Eagle points. Conversely, Rhema had only nine turnovers that led to six points for Ozark.
