After starting the season with five consecutive losses, the Rhema Lady Eagles have won back-to-back contests after defeating Oklahoma Wesleyan’s JV squad 61-52 at the Ninowski Recreation Center Monday night. For the second time in as many contests, Rhema won the turnover battle. The Lady Eagles forced 27 OWU turnovers while committing only 19, their fewest all season. Rhema also limited OWU to 30 percent shooting from the floor (12-for-32), including 17 percent (3-for-18) from long distance.
For the second contest in a row, freshman guard Jamie Davis set a career-high in scoring, pouring in 30 points, but she also added a career-high eight rebounds. Freshman forward Vanessa Zailo notched her second consecutive double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing a game-high 11 rebounds, her fourth double-double of the year. She is now averaging 14 rebounds per game through the first seven games.
