Rhema Lady Eagles 2018-2019 Season Review

The Lady Eagles started the season in a rebuilding season. With only 3 returners in Abby Salinas, Tiffany Wuertzer, and Kamryn Lindskov, and 5 new players, the lady Eagles had to focus on the fundamentals and learning to play together. The team took on the motto “This is Us”. Coach Kerri Sharp, had to get her returners to take on new roles, from last year. Such as Abby Salinas, and Kamryn Lindskov to take the point guard positions.

The Lady Eagles ended the season at 12-13 and ACCA Runner-up in the National Championship game.

In the ACCA Tournament the Lady Eagles won their first game against the host school of Ozark Christian Lady Ambassadors 58-35. In the second game the Rhema Lady Eagles played Kansas Christian, who they split with in the regular season, and won in the semi-final game 68-57. In the championship game, the Rhema Lady Eagles had to face the 4 time ACCA National Champion in Arlington Baptist University. Unfortunately, the Lady Eagles were not able to defeat them with a score of 48-99.

The Lady Eagles had 3 players who had ALL American Honors.

  • Freshman Guard, Briana Wood received ACCA Honorable Mention while averaging 14.9 ppg and 35.5% from the 3 point line.
  • Freshman Forward, Mikal Lewis received- ACCA 2nd Team ALL – American while averaging 12.1ppg, and 10.4 rbpg for the season
  • Junior Forward Abby Salinas Received ACCA 1st Team All- American while averaging 13.0ppg and shooting 40% from the field, 8.04 rbpg , 4.1 apg, for the season
